Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) – One more Buffalo Sabres player was added to the NHL's COVID-19 protocols list on Sunday, as forward Casey Mittelstadt now joins teammates Rasmus Ristolainen, Taylor Hall, Brandon Montour, Tobi Rieder, Jake McCabe, Dylan Cozens and Curtis Lazar.
It is unclear if Mittelstadt has tested positive for COVID-19, or if he has been deemed as a close contact of someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Head coach Ralph Krueger has also tested positive for COVID-19, as the team announced this past Thursday.
The whole team and its staff have been under quarantine since Feb. 1. The NHL has the Sabres' season on hold through, at least, Monday.
Buffalo had four games postponed and rescheduled by the NHL, with the next game slated for Thursday against the Washington Capitals.
