Victoria Roca, Susana Cappello and Carolina Baigorri are three high school students from Miami, FL who decided to take a stand against those who put drugs in other people's drinks. For a school project, the three invented a straw that changes color from clear to a dark blue when it comes in contact with a liquid that contains drugs such as GHB and ketamine to alert the potential consumer that the drink has been spiked. With date rape on the climb, an invention like this could save so many people from experience traumatic scenarios in which they have been drugged and taken advantage of.
