The Morning Beat: Could Vaping be causing a spike in lung disease

According to a CNN survey of health departments, vaping could be the cause of a spike in a mysterious lung disease that has affected over 120 people in 15 states.

States with the most cases include Wisconsin, with 15 confirmed cases and 15 more under investigation. Illinois has 10 confirmed cases, while 12 more are under investigation. California has 19 such cases. While the New York State Department of Health said Friday it was "actively investigating" 11 cases.

Health officials in Indiana, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Utah also said they were aware of potential cases or had cases that were confirmed. 

The mysterious ailment causes a variety of symtoms including shortness of breath, fever, cough, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness and chest pain.
