The trial of three men accused of drugging and robbing victims in New York City's gay bars began Wednesday.
The men are charged with murder, conspiracy, and grand larceny, linked to the deaths of Julio Ramirez and John Umberger in 2022.
Prosecutors say the men targeted intoxicated victims outside bars, drugged them with fentanyl, and used facial recognition to steal from their bank accounts. Two other men have already pleaded guilty in connection with the scheme.
Attorneys for the defendants deny the charges, arguing the cause of death was unclear. More here from our friends at NBCOut.com
