Pete Buttigieg is "unable to take a joke," said Pence in a follow-up to his maternity leave comments
In response to criticism, Mike Pence dismissed it and defended remarks he made about postpartum depression, parental leave in what the White House referred to as a "homophobic" joke about Pete Buttigieg's.
"When Pete’s two children were born, he took two months’ maternity leave whereupon thousands of travelers were stranded in airports, the air traffic system shut down, and airplanes nearly collided on our runways," Pence said, according to the Post. "Pete is the only person in human history to have a child and everyone else gets postpartum depression."
On March 16th, In response to Pences remarks, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg's husband said "We all have an obligation to hold people accountable for when they say something wrong, especially when it’s misogynistic, especially when it’s homophobic."
