Over the last few years, hard seltzer has become the alcoholic beverage of choice for many. With seemingly every drink brand joining the trend, releasing their own version of the popular drink, fans have an abundance of flavors to choose from.
Now, yet another popular soda brand has decided to hop on board as well, as Mountain Dew recently announced plans to release a line of hard seltzers.
Mountain Dew, which is owned by PepsiCo, has teamed up with the Boston Beer Company to release the new “HARD MTN DEW.”
The new hard seltzer will be sugar free, with 5% alcohol by volume, and come in three flavors; original, watermelon and black cherry.
According to CNN, the new drink is expected to hit shelves by 2022.
In a press release, the two companies said they were partnering because they “understand the importance of delivering new, breakthrough innovations to address the changing tastes of drinkers."
While some reports recently have claimed the hard seltzer trend is starting to fade, Mountain Dew is hoping their new drink will spark fan interest once again. If not, the annual pumpkin spice trend is right around the corner.
