Pine City, Minnesota made history last week when it
elected its first openly gay mayor.
Kent Bombard was sworn into office after the previous
mayor stepped down to spend more time with his family.
A recent report by the LGBTQ+ Victory Institute found that
the number of openly queer elected officials in the US has
increased by nearly 200% in the last seven years.
It also found that every state and D.C. has elected
at least one, with there being a total of 1,303. More here.
