There's a lot of stuff to watch on Netflix.
According to Whats-On-Netflix, there are 2,961 movies, to be exact, and a ton of TV shows to go along with the huge film collection. That's a whole lot of streaming to get through.
Apparently, Terry Francona has done just that, in an at-first funny, and then slightly upsetting and poignant statement to Indians reporter Mandy Bell.
Terry Francona: "I've watched every Netflix program there is. I'm out of Netflix. I admit, I miss baseball."
— Mandy Bell (@MandyBell02) April 16, 2020We can't really imagine Francona watching each and every episode of American Horror Story or Glee -- they just don't really seem to reflect what he would want to watch -- and it's pretty unlikely that he's sat through such acclaimed films as Hurricane Bianca: From Russia With Hate, or Spy Kids 3: Game Over, or Haunting on Fraternity Row.
Surprisingly, none of those three movies were nominated for any awards.
Still, his point is clear: this pandemic has made life for everyone -- and especially for a man involved with Major League Baseball since 1981, going through the same routines year in and year out -- extremely abnormal and oftentimes difficult. He misses baseball, the players miss baseball, the fans miss baseball... heck, the whole world misses the comfort and normalcy of baseball.
Francona appeared on Bull & Fox Wednesday to discuss how the Indians are preparing for the upcoming season, when and if it is able to take place, and he finds it extremely important that everyone keeps their minds open to every idea and potential route to return that gets floated into the baseball atmosphere.
Until then, Francona will have to find some new material to watch while he bides his time.
