Fox puts five athletes on Boston Sports Mount Rushmore during TNF, botching the whole thing

The hardest part about compiling any hypothetical Mount Rushmore is limiting the group to four people. That's how many presidents are featured on the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota, and thus, that's how many sports figures are featured on Boston's Mount Rushmore –– or any other city's.

But apparently, the production minds at Fox Sports overlooked this information when preparing their Boston Sports Mount Rushmore graphic on "Thursday Night Football." The superimposed mountain featured Ted Williams, Bill Russell, Bobby Orr and Larry Bird, with Tom Brady getting added in as the fifth person.

Of course, that is not how this exercise works.

Perhaps even more amusingly, when Joe Buck was talking about all of the great professional athletes who have passed through Boston, Troy Aikman blurted out Roger Clemens' name. While Clemens was an incredible pitcher for the Red Sox, he doesn't even sniff Boston's Mount Rushmore. Pedro Martinez is a contemporary pitcher who's far more deserving of the honor.

But since Aikman went with Clemens, it would be interesting to see who else he puts on his list. Maybe the Rocket Man is in between Joe Thornton and Rajon Rondo.
