Fenway Park will be the home of champions next Tuesday. The Super Bowl-winning Patriots will be on hand for the Red Sox' Opening Day World Series ceremony, says team president Sam Kennedy.
"We have an exciting day coming up on Tuesday," Kennedy said, per WBZ. "We've invited the Patriots and we're ecstatic they're going to be there. It's going to be a great day."
Kennedy didn't reveal any more details about the ceremony, which will take place prior to first pitch. Two years ago, the Super Bowl champion Patriots were also honored at Fenway, and the events featured Tom Brady tackling Rob Gronkowski. Perhaps we'll see a re-enactment next week, though Gronk's retirement may have nixed those plans.

— NFL Latino TV -- (@NFLlatinoTV) April 3, 2017Bill Belichick is close friends with Red Sox executive Tony La Russa and publicly cheered on the hometown nine several times last fall. Red Sox and Patriots players regularly support each other on social media as well.
Interestingly enough, the relationship between the teams' ownership groups may be a little frosty. The Boston Globe, which is owned by John Henry, produced a Spotlight series on Aaron Hernandez last year that didn't portray the Patriots in a favorable light. The paper has also breathlessly covered Robert Kraft's prostitution charges.
