The Red Sox are looking to sweep the Angels for the second time this season when the two clubs meet Thursday at Fenway Park.
And manager Alex Cora is putting out his best lineup.
Cora has frequently rested regulars this season, citing the importance of keeping everybody fresh for the duration of the summer. With the Yankees coming into town Friday for a highly anticipated holiday weekend set, it seemed like this would be the perfect opportunity to sit down some starters.
But the Red Sox have other plans. Their powerful lineup, which chased Angels starter John Lamb after 1.2 innings Tuesday and belted three home runs in Wednesday's 9-6 victory, will largely be intact to face Jaime Barria. The only changes from Wednesday are Brock Holt at second base for Eduardo Nunez and Christian Vazquez behind the plate for Sandy Leon.
Young left-hander Brian Johnson is probably happy for the support.
