Britt McHenry reviews her Kirk & Callahan experience

Britt McHenry received the full Kirk & Callahan experience during her debut Tuesday: she was probed about the work environment at ESPN, quizzed about her solo travel excursions and participated in some naval gazing –– including sound of Gary Tanguay critiquing her performance during last week's phone interview.

And she says she would love to come back.

In a post-show chat with me on Facebook Live, McHenry said she was completely comfortable with the subject matter, which heavily tilted towards ESPN. On Sunday, ex-ESPN anchor Adrienne Lawrence filed a lawsuit alleging predatory behavior from John Buccigross, and also accused Chris Berman of leaving a racist voicemail for Jeme Hill.

McHenry, who doesn't shy away from speaking about her former employer, says she felt compelled to stick up for her friends named in the suit.

"I am (comfortable speaking about ESPN)," she said. "It's enough time where I'm removed from it. "But some of the people listed in that lawsuit –– John Buccigross, Chris Berman, Jonathan Coachman. They're still my good friends. You don't come after Berman. He's polarizing in a sense, too, but I just go by how people have treated me. I wasn't nervous to say anything about ESPN, but when your friends are involved …"

Big thank you to @KirkAndCallahan & listeners for having me on. @kirkmin & @GerryCallahan were welcoming. Loved meeting @KenLairdWEEI @KirkAndCallahan & @AlexReimer1. pic.twitter.com/ZRtf2TpxBj

As far as Kirk and Gerry, McHenry admitted to being a little nervous during her first hour. But then she says she loosened up, perhaps thanks to a chatty Kirk during breaks –– and a deeper connection she feels with Gerry, her right-wing compadre.

"I knew that Gerry happens to fall on the same political spectrum as I do," she said. "I think Kirk was chattier. I think Gerry and I don't even have to talk. We're one and the same."
