The Patriots promise to be one of the busier teams over the first couple of days of the NFL Draft, with four picks in the first two rounds. Here's hoping they take care of business early, safeguarding New England from some cheesy gimmicks during the Draft's third and final day.
The Buccaneers announced Monday they will have a parrot deliver their selections to an announcer on the pirate ship at Raymond James Stadium during Round 4. That doesn't seem like it will be annoying at all …
Now that the bird's out of the cage, here's a photo of Zsa Zsa, a Catalina Macaw parrot, who will announce our fourth-round pick.#GoBucs☠️ pic.twitter.com/zozmsxc7X0
— Tampa Bay Buccaneers (@Buccaneers) April 23, 2018The 49ers have another unusual gimmick, choosing Ron Howard, Chewbacca, Stormtroopers and R2-D2 to call out their picks.
It promises to be an insufferable weekend of NFL Draft coverage, with ESPN, NFL Network and Fox Sports all broadcasting live from the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium. Last week, it was reported the NFL wants every national sports network to televise the draft, mimicking Election Night coverage.
Given the dearth of attractive live programming options, the NFL may get its wish.
