Ray Lewis accuses Odell Beckham Jr. of ignoring God in strange tirade

Odell Beckham Jr. is on the verge of becoming one of the highest-paid receivers in football. Or, to Ray Lewis, he's in desperate need of an intervention.

On FS1 Monday, Lewis said Beckham needs to recommit himself to God, or else his entire life will spiral out of control.

"Where there's no God, there's chaos. Odell has removed God from his life," Lewis declared. "This is a kid that grew up under the covenant of who God really is. And everything he's doing, he's crying out for help. We have a lot of people reporting about it, but it's always been the duty of elders to go back to help people. So that's why I raised my hand."

Beckham, who missed 12 games last season after fracturing his ankle, was recently videotaped in bed with a pizza and possibly brown cigarette and cigar. Giants owner John Mara lambasted Beckham for the episode and wouldn't rule out trading him.

While Beckham could carry himself more maturely, Lewis is the last person who should be doling out moral advice. He doubled down on his silly take later Monday.

"People try to take comments and twist them," Lewis explained. "I'm more invested in this young man more than anybody who's talking about him… That's like a child to me."

Lewis is right: it would be scary if OBJ allowed God to exit his life. Maybe he would snap and get accused of double murder and subsequently plead guilty to obstruction of justice charges.

Lewis should leave the moralizing to somebody with a cleaner rap sheet.
