Rob Gronkowski hasn't appeared at any official Patriots team practices this offseason. But he has been practicing at the shooting range.

The Patriots tight end, who announced last month he was returning to the team for the upcoming season, was videotaped recently firing a minigun for a new movie role. Gronk will appear in the action film "The Tracking Board," alongside stars Mel Gibson and Frank Grillo. The movie's director, Joe Carnahan, posted video of Gronkowski practicing his shot on Instagram. Much to the probable chagrin of Bill Belichick, Gronkowski isn't wearing any protective gear.

While miniguns are illegal to own in the U.S., there is an exception for those that were purchased before 1986, thanks to a loophole in the National Firearms Act. The machine gun can fire 2,000 –– 6,000 rounds per minute.
