Colin Cowherd might soon have less of a platform for his insightful commentary –– such as his belief that Bill Belichick is trying to sabotage Tom Brady.
The FS1 host has been telling colleagues he plans to step down from his TV show, "Speak for Yourself" with Jason Whitlock, per Sporting News' Michael McCarthy. The program, which airs from 5:00 p.m. –– 6:00 p.m., premiered June 2016.
The rumored decision to expand SFY to two hours is reportedly driving Cowherd's exit from the show. Doug Gottlieb, basically a less notable version of Cowherd who also happened to play college basketball, appears to be one of the candidates to take his place. Ray Lewis is listed as a possibility as well. His addition would pay big dividends in the unintentional comedy arena. That's for sure.
Like all of FS1's studio programs, SFY has struggled to attract an audience since its inception. The program drew an average of 92,000 viewers last year, according to Forbes.
Cowherd's radio show, "The Herd," draws in an average of 103,000 viewers per episode. The program's news anchor, Kristine Leahy, announced last week she's leaving to host her own weekday program on the network.
