The Rays are the first AL East team to make a move on deadline day, acquiring first baseman Jesus Aguilar from the Brewers in exchange for right-hander Jake Faria, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

First baseman Jesus Aguilar has been traded from the Milwaukee Brewers to the Tampa Bay Rays, sources tell ESPN.

An All-Star in 2018, Aguilar has had a down year in 2019, but is slashing .298/.346/.574 in the month of July. Meanwhile, Faria has had some injury issues this year, throwing only 10 innings for the Rays, but has posted a 2.70 ERA in that small sample.

The Rays have been as busy as any team, shopping players in anticipation of a 40-man roster crunch, and the Brewers get Jake Faria, whose stuff has ticked up with a move to the bullpen. After a strong rookie year, Faria regressed in 2018. Could be a future rotation candidate.
