Patriots looking forward to Super Bowl LIII ring ceremony Thursday night

FOXBORO — Four months removed from their sixth Super Bowl win this century, the Patriots are ready to party.

New England will have its Super Bowl ring ceremony Thursday, with owner Robert Kraft planning the usual festivities before the players receive their new hardware. The only Patriot receiving his sixth ring is quarterback Tom Brady, no stranger to nights like these.

"It's pretty special to be in this position and to accept the ring and to have that for the rest of your life," he said. "It is something you pass down to your kids. It means a lot. That 2018 team accomplished a lot. It's a great night to celebrate. You will have the pictures for the rest of your life. It will be fun. Everyone is looking forward to it."

The Patriots teased the ring reveal on Twitter on Wednesday night.

The ceremony puts an end to the speculation that Brady could be the Bruins' banner captain at TD Garden for Thursday night's Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, since the Patriots will be a little pre-occupied.

Center David Andrews, for one, seems excited.

Kraft is hosting the party at his home, and according to Brady, it's an event.

"He puts on a great party," he said. "He's been planning it. I have been fortunate to be at a few over the years, it's pretty cool."
