Bobby Dalbec's hot streak continued on Thursday, as the Red Sox' top prospect celebrated Independence Day by belting his fifth homer in the last six games, a bomb to left-center in Double-A Portland's 6-3 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
How fitting for @BobbyDalbec Early fireworks, as he crushes a two-run homer to left-center field (#19). Portland leading @FisherCats 2-1. T4

July 5, 2019 Dalbec's 19th homer leads the Eastern League, as he continues to hit for serious power in the minors. He's slashing .234/.371/.494 in Double-A, as his occasional struggles to hit for average are balanced out by his penchant for extra-base hits.
Thornburg continues to struggle in Pawtucket
Thursday was another rough night for Tyler Thornburg, who gave up a two-run homer as the only hit in an inning of work in Pawtucket, bringing his ERA at Triple-A back up to 13.97. Thornburg has been unfathomably bad in his rehab stint with the Paw Sox, and with his assignment up soon, he seems a likely DFA candidate when the time comes.
