Red Sox fan Jonah Kaitz didn't expect to be right in the middle of the action on Thursday night, but that's where he found himself in the first inning of the Red Sox-Rangers finale when a deep fly ball from Texas left fielder Hunter Pence made a beeline for the wall in front of him.
Kaitz, sitting in the front row of the right-field box seats, watched as Mookie Betts turned to see the ball sail over his head, before hitting the top of the wall and bizarrely bouncing back into the field of play.

— Cut4 (@Cut4) June 13, 2019"We've been trying to figure it out, we're not sure if it hit the lip or not but I think it hit the lip of the wall and just bounced straight up in the air," Kaitz said. "It didn't hit me, just the fence, it happened so quick."
Kaitz was the fan front-and-center in every replay, and even he didn't know how the ball managed to stay in the park. The physics-defying ricochet held what could have been a three-run home run to just an RBI double, though it couldn't save David Price from making an early exit on Thursday night after a forgettable start.
Kaitz, however, will always have proof of his most memorable trip to Fenway, having seen himself on the replays already on his phone.
"I just checked the (MLB) At Bat app and I'm on it, it's crazy to see myself on television," Kaitz said. "These are great seats, but wow."
