A week after missing the second half against the Jets with what was announced as a chest injury, Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is active for Sunday's game in Buffalo. Edelman was limited in practice all week.

While Edelman playing is good news for the offense -- albeit likely with some pain from what has been reported as a rib injury – New England will be without linebacker Dont'a Hightower in Buffalo due to a shoulder injury that limited him in practice all week.

Elsewhere on the offense, running back Rex Burkhead will also be active against the Bills after being limited in practice all week with a foot injury that had put his status somewhat in question.

The rest of the Patriots inactives in Buffalo weren't overly notable, a group that includes backup offensive linemen Caleb Benenoch and Korey Cunningham, newly-signed third-string quarterback Cody Kessler, defensive lineman Byron Cowart, defensive back Joejuan Williams and running back Damien Harris.

Special teamer Nate Ebner returns to action after missing a week with a groin injury. Tight end Matt LaCosse also gets back on the field after missing a week with an ankle injury that dates back to preseason action.
