It took a while, but there will finally be a Patriots player among NFL Network's Top 100 players when the final 10 spots are announced on Wednesday night.
Reigning Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore will be among those anointed as the best in the game by the very unscientific, criticism-worthy NFLN list. Though the list is technically voted on by players, the ranking is rife with questionable slottings.
It's certainly worth a discussion as to whether the Patriots should have had a player – Julian Edelman, Devin McCourty and Joe Thuney would seem realistic candidates – in the first 90 slots on the list of the NFL's best.
