Maybe even more shocking was the fact that fans at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis booed their franchise quarterback as he left the field for the final time at the conclusion of the team’s preseason game against the Bears.
Not surprisingly, many current and former Patriots players had almost immediate reaction via social media to Luck’s retirement, as well was how he was unceremoniously treated by at least a small portion of his hometown fans.
There are times during your career when you have to decide if the sacrifice is worth it. I respect this decision by Andrew Luck and wish him the best. https://t.co/NCsc8ZDzG5

August 25, 2019 Things can change, but watching Andrew Luck speak at the podium I saw a player that was mentally and emotionally done with the game. I don’t see a comeback in the future. And the boos from Colts fans didn’t help.
