In the past, NFL teams reported for training camp at somewhat varied times based on their preseason game schedule – 15 days prior to their preseason opener.
Apparently, the new NFL CBA signed this spring creates a more uniform training camp reporting system, with teams now opening camp 47 or 48 days before their regular season opener.
According to a report from ESPN for most teams, including the Patriots, this summer’s training camp report date will be July 28.
In fact, 30 of the 32 NFL teams will report on July 28, leading up to their opening games on either Sept. 13 or 14.
The Chiefs and Texans will report to camp on July 25, 47 days prior to their Thursday, Sept. 10 NFL season opener.
