According ESPN, the Patriots are signing veteran offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse to add depth to a thinning offensive line group.
Already playing with captain David Andrews (blood clots in his lungs) lost for the season on injured reserve, New England saw right tackle Marcus Cannon leave the opener against the Steelers with a reported left shoulder injury that while not expected to be season-ending could cause the veteran to miss multiple weeks of action.

— Field Yates (@FieldYates) September 11, 2019Newhouse is a veteran of eight NFL seasons who has experience playing both tackle spots as well as some guard. He entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick by Green Bay out of TCU in 2010. Over the course of his career with the Packers, Bengals, Giants, Raiders, Bills and Panthers the journeyman has now played in 114 games with 72 starts. His last season as a full-time player came in Oakland in 2017 when he started all 14 games he played at tackle.
Since the last week of the preseason, New England has added to its limited line depth with trades for Korey Cunningham and Jermaine Eluemunor as well as re-signing interior backup Brian Ferentz.
