Here is a recap of all the action from Tuesday night in the Red Sox farm system.
TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (46-53): W, 6-3 vs. Columbus
- The PawSox snapped a six-game skid, using timely hitting to down the Clippers. The PawSox went 4-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
- Starting pitcher William Cuevas tossed 6 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs and struck out nine. Cuevas owns a 1.09 WHIP for the year.
- Catcher Dan Butler belted his fifth home run of the season.
DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (42-58): W, 1-0 vs. Harrisburg
- Third baseman Michael Chavis recorded the lone RBI, his fourth in six games with the Sea Dogs. He hadn't played since July 14 due to a sore wrist.
- Starting pitcher Mike Shawaryn earned his sixth win, dealing seven scoreless innings. Despite a losing record, Shawaryn owns a 3.29 ERA and 1.10 WHIP.
- Designated hitter Josh Ockimey struck out in each of his four at-bats. He now has struck out 100 times in 83 contests.
HIGH-A SALEM RED SOX (48-52): L, 8-6 at Wilmington
- First baseman Jerry Downs clubbed two homers in the loss. Downs has nine home runs on the season.
- Starting pitcher Darwinzon Hernandez walked six and allowed three earned runs in five innings pitched. He has surrendered 58 free passes in 85 2/3 innings pitched this season.
- Third baseman Michael Osinski doubled twice, increasing his average to .317 with Salem.
SINGLE-A GREENVILLE DRIVE (42-57): Postponed due to wet grounds
SHORT SEASON-A LOWELL SPINNERS (21-16): W, 5-3 vs. Hudson Valley
- Center fielder Jarren Duran recorded two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Duran is batting .357 and has nine triples in 31 games with Lowell.
- First baseman Devlin Granberg walked twice and singled. He owns an OBP of .397.
- Kris Jackson picked up his second save, pitching a scoreless final frame. He still has not allowed a run with the Spinners.
