Here's what happened in the Red Sox farm system on Sunday.
TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (44-47): W, 5-3 vs Syracuse
-- MLB veteran Adam Lind launched a walk-off home run in the 10th inning to secure a 5-3 victory for the PawSox.
-- Pawtucket stormed back from a 2-0 deficit in the seventh inning, ultimately forcing extras. Syracuse manufactured a run in the top half of the 10th, but the PawSox tied the contest at three before Lind's walk-off.
-- Starter Josh Smith threw five innings of one-run baseball, striking out five with zero walks. In his last six outings, Smith has only allowed two runs in almost 18 innings of work.
-- Tony Renda (2-for-5, 2 RBI), Cole Sturgeon (2-for-4, RBI) and Aneury Tavarez (2-for-4) also contributed in the win.
DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (36-55): L, 3-1 vs New Hampshire
-- Portland starter Matt Kent tossed a career-high eight innings, giving up three runs (two earned).
-- Shortstop Deiner Lopez launched a solo homer in the second inning, his first of the season, for Portland's only run.
-- Jeremy Rivera had two of the Sea Dogs' four hits. He finished the series with three multi-hit games bringing his batting average to .231.
HIGH-A SALEM RED SOX (46-46): W, 7-4 at Wilmington
-- Salem didn't take the lead until the eighth inning, but a five-run frame secured the victory.
-- Bobby Dalbec launched a home run in his second consecutive game. Dalbec now has a league-best 23 home runs this season. Dalbec's eight home runs in July are tied with Xander Bogaerts' record in June 2012 for most in one month in the Salem Red Sox era.
-- Salem starter Kevin McAvoy allowed two runs on two hits and six walks in just under five innings of work. He received a no-decision.
SINGLE-A GREENVILLE DRIVE (40-53): W, 3-1 vs Lexington
-- Greenville's Victor Acosta had a perfect day at the plate, launching three doubles in his first three plate-appearances before launching a home run in the eighth inning.
-- Acosta drove in two of Greenville's three runs. He's now batting .285 with 36 RBI's.
-- Drive starter Denyi Reyes shutting out Lexington for seven innings while fanning six batters. The win moves his record to 9-3.
SHORT-SEASON SINGLE-A LOWELL SPINNERS (15-14): W, 6-2 at Batavia
-- The Spinners won their sixth straight game, their fifth consecutive win away from Lowell.
-- Starter Thaddeus Ward logged three scoreless innings, walking two and striking out two.
-- The Spinners' offense broke the game open in the seventh scoring four runs. Jarren Duran got the inning going with a leadoff single, increasing his hit streak to six games.
