Here is what happened in the Red Sox farm system on Sunday.
TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (25-29): W, 4-2 at Durham
--Outfielder Cole Sturgeon blasted two solo home runs, one in the first inning and another in the ninth. It was the 26 year old's first multi-homerun game and his first two homeruns at the Triple-A level since being called up from Portland.
--Center fielder Rusney Castillo logged a three-hit day with two doubles and a single to go along with an RBI. Castillo is now batting .295 this season.
--Starting pitcher Justin Haley let up just one run in 5.1 innings while striking out a pair on his way to his third win of the season.
DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (20-35): W, 6-2 at Harrisburg
-- Center fielder Tate Matheny shined for the Sea Dogs Sunday, going a perfect 4-4 at the plate and adding two RBI's in the victory.
-- Starter Teddy Stankiewicz improved to 5-5 on the season behind six strong innings and just two earned runs.
-- Three Portland relievers combined to throw a scoreless last three innings while striking out seven.
HIGH-A SALEM RED SOX (26-27): L, 5-4 vs. Wilmington
-- The top third of Salem's order: third basemen Santiago Espinal, second basemen Brett Netzer and shortstop C.J. Chatham, each notched three hits in Sunday's loss.
-- The rest of Salem's offense went quiet, only two other players recorded hits as Salem left a combined eight men on base.
-- Espinal reached base in the bottom of the ninth, but Netzer and Chatam both struck out to end the ballgame with the tying run aboard.
SINGLE-A GREENVILLE DRIVE (16-38): W, 7-6 vs. Asheville
-- Some late game heroics from third basemen Tanner Nishioka earned Greenville their first series sweep of the season in walk off fashion.
-- Greenville center fielder and lead off man Lorenzo Cedroia continued his impressive play, knocking in three RBI's Sunday. His 3-5 day at the plate brings his batting average up to an impressive .324.
-- Starter Denyl Reyes went five strong with one earned but it was reliever Devon Fisher who picked up his second victory of the season after throwing a scoreless ninth.
-- The Drive entered the bottom of the ninth down a run. A Victor Acosta singled tied the contest before Nishioka's walk off single.
