Monday Red Sox Farm Report: Tyler Thornburg struggles with PawSox

Here is what happened in the Red Sox farm system on Sunday.​

TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (32-35): L, 3-2 at Lehigh Valley


-- The PawSox stormed back in the ninth after the IronPigs hung three runs in the seventh. Pawtucket answered with one run in the last frame, but couldn't plate the tying run with the bases loaded and nobody out.

-- Rehabbing Red Sox reliever Tyler Thornburg struggled. Thornburg allowed three runs on four hits, recording just one out on 15 pitches. His ERA increased to 4.66.

-- Pawtucket's Tzu-Wei Lin (2-for-5), Rusney Castillo (2-for-5) and Aneury Tavarez (2-for-3, double, walk) all recorded multi-hit games.

DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (26-41): W, 5-3 vs. Bowie

-- The Sea Dogs scored all five of their runs in the first inning. 

-- Shortstop Chad De La Guerra went 2-for-4 bringing his average up to .270. He smacked a two-run home run in the first inning, his fifth blast of the season.

-- Portland starter Matt Kent went six-plus innings allowing just one run on a home run in the second inning. The win brought Kent's record to 4-4 with an ERA of 2.80. In Kent's last thirteen innings of work, the lefty has allowed just one run.

HIGH-A SALEM RED SOX (32-36): W, 3-2 at Lynchburg

-- Third basemen Bobby Dalbec knocked his league-best 14th home run over the fence. His two-run shot ultimately was the difference in the contest.

-- Salem starting pitcher Bryan Mata improved his record to 4-2 with the win. He allowed just one run on three hits while giving up four walks over 5 2/3 innings of work.

-- Lynchburg left nine runners on base between the fourth and seventh inning.

-- Salem will send five players to the Carolina League All-Star Game: shortstop Santiago Espinal, catcher Roldani Baldwin and first basemen Jerry Downs will be heading to the game along with relievers Matthew Gorst and Daniel Gonzalez.

SINGLE-A GREENVILLE DRIVE (25-44): W, 4-1 at Charleston

-- Starting pitcher Durin O'Linger shined for the Drive. The right-hander allowed one run on five hits with five strikeouts in seven innings. O'Linger brought his ERA down to 0.64 with the win and his record improved to 2-0.

-- Outfielder Marino Campana spearheaded the Greenville offense going with a 2-for-4, which included a two-run double in the first.

-- The Drive will send six members of their organization to the South Atlantic League All-Star Game. Manager Iggy Suarez will coach the Southern Division squad.
