It was an eventful night for the Bruins on Thursday.

Rick Middleton’s number was raised to the rafters at TD Garden and David Krejci lost some of his chiclets. A second period hit by Islanders defenseman Thomas Hickey dislodged at least one tooth from the mouth of Krejci resulting in it landing on the ice.

While Krejci was at the Boston bench for repairs, Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk took it upon himself to become the tooth fairy and return the lost tooth to the Bruins bench.

Boychuk was a longtime Bruin, playing with Krejci from 2008-2014, helping the B’s win a Stanley Cup in 2011.

"I love Johnny [Boychuk>,” Cassidy told reporters. “He's a good guy. But that's just weird.”

Torey Krug added: “Yeah, I didn’t even know what he was picking up, to be honest. I thought he was being a clown like he typically is. After I found out it was his teeth it was pretty gross.”

Nice guy that Johnny Boychuk.
