It took 10 days but on Monday night, Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final finally took place. The Bruins came out victorious, as they beat the Blues 4-2.

After a few close calls for the Bruins, the Blues were the ones to get on the board first. With 13 minutes to play in the first, Brayden Schenn received the puck in the slot and fired one past Tuukka Rask.

The close calls for the Bruins came on opposite sides of the Schenn goal. First there was Jake DeBrusk who came oh-so-close to making it 1-0 B's.

In the second period, things didn't start out great for the Bruins.

Just one minute into the middle 20, David Pastrnak turned the puck over behind his own net, leading to Vladimir Tarasenko capitalizing to make it 2-0 Blues..

Midway through the second, Oskar Sundqvist hit Clifton from behind, sending the Bruins to the power play. That's when Charlie McAvoy decided to take over and tie the game at 2-2 off the rush.

The Bruins shifted the tide in the second, outshooting the Blues 18-3.

Marchand added an empty-netter with under two minutes to play to make it 4-2.

Physicality was aplenty on Monday night, highlighted by Torey Krug's monstrous hit in the third period. The hits were 33-32 in favor of the Blues.
