Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced Tuesday that the organization has signed forward Pavel Shen to a three-year, entry-level contract with an annual NHL cap hit of $809,167.
Shen has played the last two seasons in the Russian Junior Hockey League (MHL), the Supreme Hockey League (VHL), and the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). In 34 games over the course of the last two seasons with the MHL, the 6-foot-1, 183-pound forward had 12 goals and 15 assists, earning 27 points with plus-11 rating. Meanwhile in the VHL, which is the second highest league in Russia, Shen picked up two assists in 13 games last season. In the KHL, Shen scored two goals and picked up one assist for three points in 49 games over the last two seasons.
The 19-year-old also helped Team Russia win bronze at the 2019 World Junior Championship, where he finished with three goals and one assist in seven games with a plus-four rating.
