After there was word earlier Sunday morning that there were six teams interested in Terry Rozier, it looks like one team has emerged as the landing spot for the 6-foot-1 point guard: Charlotte.
The Athletic's Shams Charania reports that Rozier plans to agree to a three-year, $58 millon contract with the Hornets via a sign-and-trade.
Charania also added that all three years and $58 million will be fully guaranteed for Rozier in Charlotte.
Just a few hours earlier, ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Celtics were interested in a three-team sign-and-trade with Kyrie Irving going to Brooklyn, Kemba Walker to Boston, and Terry Rozier to the Hornets, as a means to create a full Mid-Level Exception. It was believed that this was an effort to potentially land Al Horford back in Boston.
However, according to Steve Bulpett of The Boston Herald, these efforts still may not get Horford back in Boston. Bulpett reports, "Source close to Horford says that even after all the Celtics' cap gymnastics, he will not be winding up back in Boston."
Though Keith Smith of Yahoo Sports reports that the sign-and-trade with Rozier and the efforts to get Horford are still somewhat connected. Smith explained, "The Boston Celtics do not have a commitment from Al Horford to re-sign, but know they can't get one without the ability to offer him a deal at market value. Thus, they are arranging S&T deals to even be able to make the offer to Horford, while maintaining full MLE."
