After the Blues took a series lead 3-2 against the Bruins Thursday night in Boston, the ticket prices for Game 6 in St. Louis immediately jumped.
According to TicketIQ, Game 6 will be the most expensive Stanley Cup game to date. The cheapest ticket is listed at $2,019, and the average ticket price is $4,299.

— Kurt Badenhausen (@kbadenhausen) June 7, 2019While the numbers will likely fluctuate slightly between now and Sunday, the average ticket price has Game 6 ranked as the second most expensive sporting event in the last decade. As of right now, the only sporting event with a higher average price according to TicketIQ was Game 7 of the 2016 World Series when the Indians hosted the Cubs. On average, tickets went for $5,300.
In terms of the NHL, the event with the closest ticket prices to Sunday's matchup was also a Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Back in 2017, the Predators hosted the Penguins, with average ticket prices listed at $3,416, ranking the event seventh on this decade's overall list. The Penguins went into Game 6 leading the series 3-2, before winning the Cup on the road with a score of 2-0.
In just two years, the average ticket price for a Stanley Cup Final Game 6 has gone up almost $900. However, the Blues and Bruins Game 6 set up is slightly different than the Penguins and Predators, given that the Blues are up 3-2 and will also host next. This poses an opportunity for St. Louis to potentially win its first Stanley Cup at home.
If the Bruins win Sunday night, the team would force a Game 7 back in Boston Wednesday. As of now, TicketIQ lists the cheapest ticket for Wednesday at $1,516 without fees. Though, if the sales for a potential Game 7 are anything like what happened with Game 6, that number could change dramatically following Sunday's game.
