Blake Swihart returns to Red Sox camp following death of younger brother

Blake Swihart rejoined the Red Sox on Monday morning in Fort Myers and thanked fans, teammates and media for their support, per reporters present, including Alex Speier of the Boston Globe.

Swihart left the team over the weekend following the death of his younger brother, Romell Jordan, who passed away last Wednesday at age 23. Swihart played the next day before returning to his native New Mexico to be with his family.


Swihart will travel to West Palm Beach on Tuesday and play against the Nationals.

Blake Swihart returned to Red Sox camp today. He thanked everyone - fans, teammates, media - for their support, mentioning how special it was to receive so much backing when he played the day after his brother died. Swihart will travel to play vs the Nationals tomorrow.
