The haters got their wish. Jemele Hill is leaving SportsCenter.
According to Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated, Hill is leaving the 6 p.m. SportsCenter that she had co-hosted since last February with Michael Smith in order to take a job with The Undefeated, ESPN's subsidiary site devoted to the intersection of sports, race, and culture.
According to the report, it is believed that Hill requested the change.
Hill has been no stranger to controversy over the last year, which has made her a lightning rod, particularly among conservative commentators. She was suspended in September after tweeting that president Trump was a white supremacist, earning calls for her firing from the White House. She has also dealt with low ratings in her time slot as part of SC6.
