After Marcus Morris was scratched out of the starting lineup due to knee soreness, Celtics big man Aron Baynes suffered a broken hand. Baynes hurt his left hand while battling for a rebound in the opening minutes against the Suns.
Shams Charania of The Athletic broke the story in the first half of Wednesday night's game.

December 20, 2018 Baynes battled with first overall pick Deandre Ayton for the rebound and was visibly in pain on his way back up the floor.
This appears to be the moment when Aron Baynes injured his left hand, as he fought for a rebound. You'll see him look at the hand at the very end of the clip. pic.twitter.com/9giIZeRWiu

December 20, 2018 The Celtics frontcourt just got a whole lot thinner with the injury. Baynes joins Al Horford (knee tendinitis) and Guerschon Yabusele (knee) as one of three bigs that will be out indefinitely. No word if Morris will return for Friday's marquee matchup against the Bucks, he's considered day-to-day.
Jeff’s always got the best injury data. Surgically repaired metacarpal fractures in this story typically led to players missing as many as 20 games. With Boston’s busy schedule ahead, a month out would mean at least 17 games. https://t.co/CL3SLfH4hV
