Jackie Bradley Jr. may have been struggling offensively for most of this season, but he has undeniably been swinging the lumber lately, especially Thursday night at Fenway Park.
JBJ ripped his sixth home run of the season over the right field bullpen in the seventh inning. The two-run shot gave the Red Sox a 4-1 lead, helping them to a 4-2 win and a season and series sweep of the Angels.
The game-winning homer was the Red Sox' 20th home run in their six games against the Angels this season, resulting in a six-game sweep from the Sox. According to the Red Sox, this was the team's first season sweep of six or more games in history.
Bradley and the rest of the Red Sox will look to keep up this momentum when they head to the Bronx this weekend. But for now, the Red Sox are on top of the AL East, thanks in part to JBJ swinging the lumber.
