-- MLB has issued suspensions for the brawl between the Pirates and the Reds on Tuesday night and it is a hefty list.
Six players, and each team's manager, were given a suspension, including Yasiel Puig, who is now a former member of the Reds and was traded right before this fight.
Puig was suspended three games for "aggressive actions," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle was given two games and Reds manager David Bell got six games for returning to the field after he was ejected in the eighth inning and "escalating the incident with his aggressive actions," for the Reds' "intentional pitch" aimed at Starling Marte and "(Bell's) numerous ejections this season." This is his eighth ejection this year.
In addition, Pirates pitcher Keona Kela was given 10 games for purposely throwing a pitch near Derek Dietrich's head and "for his role in instigating the bench-clearing incident," Reds reliever Amir Garrett got eight games "for inciting the bench-clearing incident" by running toward the Pirates' bench "and throwing a punch," Pirates infielder José Osuna got five games "for his aggressive and inappropriate actions during the ninth inning incident," Reds pitcher Jared Hughes got three games "for intentionally throwing a pitch at Starling Marte" in the ninth inning and Pirates pitcher Kyle Crick was given three games "for his inappropriate actions during the ninth inning incident."
QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Wear and tear. He's a thrower, not a pitcher. He does everything hard. Even his changeup is hard. His changeup is 89. That was my fastball!" -- Bill Lee, on Chris Sale's biggest issue right now
