-- Steve Kerr could use a pair of glasses after mistaking a reporter for Jimmy Garoppolo during a press conference on Tuesday.

CBS Sports reporter Colin Ward-Henninger bears a passing resemblance to the former Patriot and current 49ers quarterback, but not so much so that his looks could stop a press conference.

“Sorry, I’m a little rattled,” Kerr said during the postgame press conference when Ward-Henninger asked him a question. “I thought you were Jimmy Garoppolo.”

So Steve Kerr just said he didn't listen to my question because I look like Jimmy Garoppolo... never heard that one before, but he's a good looking dude so I'll take it. pic.twitter.com/H9GjeDmbLB

At the Warriors’ practice on Wednesday, Kerr began by asking “Where’s Garoppolo?”

-- The NCAA has reportedly opened an investigation into the UConn men’s basketball program.

According to the New Haven Register, the University of Connecticut confirmed the NCAA contacted them about an inquiry and at least some of the areas being investigated involve recruiting.

“We are working closely with the NCAA enforcement division,” the school said in a statement.

Reportedly, the FBI has not contacted the school and there is no connection between this investigation and the one involving other schools and Adidas that led to the firing of Rick Pitino from Louisville in September.

It’s been a tough stretch for the team and coach Kevin Ollie. UConn is 11-9 this season and went 16-17 last season. That was the team’s first losing season in 29 years.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “I spent time with Tom last weekend around the championship game. He is as focused as ever. He loves his coaches. He knows they are the best in the business. Again, people will see that in terms of the success they have had from Coach Belichick to [Josh> McDaniels, everyone. He gets it and he gets that is a product of the collaboration of the product they have had this amount of time.” -- Gotham Chopra, on Tom Brady’s relationship with the Patriots’ coaching staff
