Everything Lenny Dykstra does is bizarre and this is just the latest installment in the ridiculous saga of his life.
Dykstra was arrested this week for allegedly pointing a gun at an Uber driver’s head in New Jersey after the former Met asked to change his destination and the driver refused. The driver then drove to the police station and ran from the car.
Officers found Dykstra in the car in possession of cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy, according to police, but no weapon was found.
He was charged with drug possession and making terroristic threats.
He was released and took to Twitter to post a string of really odd tweets just hours later.
In response to a fan who tweeted to him in support after his release, Dykstra wrote, “Thank you. Let’s look at the positive: Hopefully this will help bring about increased awareness that the Eighth Commandment is actually more about kidnapping than nabbing a KitKat from the Wawa. @RabbiShaul @JYuter @RabbiShmuley @Rabbishish.”
And then followed up with, “Just remember that Joseph was only able to make his impact in Ancient Egypt and, more long-term, on the Israelites after a BS trip to jail.”
When a Philadelphia radio host asked if he would call in for an interview, Dykstra declined.
“No interviews now, bro. But please play @taylorswift13’s “Shake It Off” on the air in my honor!,” he tweeted.
“But I keep cruising, can't stop, won't stop movingIt's like I got this music in my mind, sayin' gonna be alright- @taylorswift13,” another tweet reads.
But then he tweeted to Philly sports radio broadcaster Angelo Cataldi for an invite to WIP’s Wing Bowl.
“What more do I have to do to get invited to @WIPMorningShow’s Wing Bowl?,” he posted.
Cataldi responded saying he would work on it.
“Will do my best to avoid the pokey so I can be there, dude!,” Dykstra responded. “The ridiculousness of these charges make it easier for me. Will stay out of other trouble through February.”
