-- Remember last year during the Super Bowl when Rob Gronkowski’s “whole house got robbed”? He’s making sure that won’t happen again this year.
Gronkowski and the Patriots departed for Atlanta on Sunday to play in the Super Bowl and the tight end left his house with an updated home security system, according to his brother Chris.
“It came down to the roommates that lived with him didn’t set the alarm,” Chris told TMZ of last year’s burglary.
But Rob is ready this year.
“I know for sure that alarm will be on, new camera systems have been put in,” Chris said. “If anyone’s trying it, they’re definitely gonna get caught … that place will be on lockdown for sure now.”
“I knew I’d get some boos,” he laughed.
Betts then thanked his family, including his wife and 10-week-old daughter, who were in the audience along with his parents.
He also took home a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Award.
The last time Betts was in New York City was when he and the Red Sox won the American League East title at Yankee Stadium last season.
