AROUND THE WEB:
-- Mike Francesa has been retired from WFAN for about five months and he’s reportedly already itching to get back on the air.
According to the NY Post, a Francesa return to WFAN is possible and his representatives have met with executives from 98.7 ESPN New York and WOR 710 AM.
“I’m not answering questions about any specific stations,” Francesa said, after a pause, when asked by the Post if he would return to WFAN.
That’s not a no.
Francesa retired in December and was replaced with Chris Carlin, Maggie Gray and Bart Scott in the afternoon.
He has been eligible to sign with another radio station since April 1 but is having trouble finding a landing spot.
It became apparent Francesa was going to miss being on the air when he made an appearance on CNBC just days after his WFAN goodbye.
