Colbert then had Edelman demonstrate how he says Brady's "Let's go" tagline in different situations during a game.

The Patriot also talked about meeting Brady for the first time, calling it a "frightening experience."

Edelman appeared on the show to promote his Showtime documentary, 100%: Julian Edelman.

-- TMZ also caught up with Edelman on the streets of New York and asked him how many years he thinks Brady has left in the NFL.

"I hope I have more than him," Edelman said.

When the TMZ reporter asked if Brady has him on the avocado ice cream diet, Edelman said definitely not.

"I don't like it," Edelman said.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: The other day he was a little bit down on that game, he was 0-for-2, and he walked three times and we lost the game on Saturday and he feels like he wasn't contributing, and the next day I said, 'Dude, hold on, come here. You got on base three times, you scored from second, you can steal bases, there's ways you can dominate the game.'" -- Alex Cora, on Mookie Betts
