AROUND THE WEB:

-- Notre Dame Stadium hosted the 2019 Winter Classic on Tuesday between the Bruins and Blackhawks and the fans were not thrilled when the venue started running out of concessions.

As early as the first intermission, attendees started complaining on Twitter about a major food and drink shortage at the stadium. Fans also said they had trouble exiting the parking lot after the game.

Out of beer, out of food, first intermission... #NotreDame I think we have a problem #WinterClassic

@NotreDame - how did you run out of food at the Winter Classic???

@NHL Huge fail at the Winter Classic @NDFootball today. Beginning of the 2nd period and they ran out of food and beer at the concession stands. People are pissed. Catholics don't drink alcohol though so it's ok.

At the #WinterClassic at @NotreDame. They ran out of food, beer and don't seem to know how to get cars out of a parking lot.

Notre Dame Stadium doesn't sell alcohol during Notre Dame football games and was likely just not prepared for the crowd size. With a sellout crowd of 76,126, this was the second-largest turnout for the Winter Classic since the event began in 2008. The highest attendance was at the 2014 Winter Classic at University of Michigan, which hosted 105,491 fans.

And did not run out of food.

-- The Notre Dame mascot also had a bit of trouble at the Winter Classic.

The Fighting Irish leprechaun skated onto the ice before the game and took a tumble on national television.

He seemed unharmed but this slip on the ice was symbolic of the way Notre Dame's football team finished the season last week when they lost to Clemson 30-3.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "There's no doubt those guys – all of the officials – they have such a hard job to do. I know we look at the replays and analyze them millisecond by millisecond and everybody has all of the answers on what it should be and what it shouldn't be. These guys are out there trying to do it live and at full speed. They make so many amazingly good calls and some of the plays are just so close that it's less than an inch or less than, not even a split-second." -- Bill Belichick, praising to the NFL referees
