-- Not only will an arctic blast hit Kansas City for the AFC Championship Game between the Patriots and the Chiefs on Sunday but there is also the possibility of a total lunar eclipse.
The “super blood wolf moon” eclipse is supposed to start at 8:36 p.m. CT and last just over an hour, meaning part of the event will occur during the game.
Not sure if this is a good omen for the Patriots, but there was also a total lunar eclipse during Game 4 of the 2004 World Series, so interpret that as you will.
-- Former MLB pitcher and World Series MVP John Wetteland was arrested this week on charges he sexually abused a male relative.
According to his arrest affidavit, Wetteland abused the boy from October 2004 to October 2006.
He was released on Monday after posting $25,000 bond.
Wetteland was living in Texas at the time of the abuse. He played for the Rangers from 1997 to 2000 after spending two years with the Yankees. He was named the 1996 World Series MVP during his time with the Yankees.
Wetteland is accused of forcing the boy to perform sex acts on him “on three separate occasions between the years of 2004-2006. Each of these three acts occurred while they were in the master bathroom shower located at (his) residence.”
“(The victim) stated that his (attacker) was gone most of the year for work responsibilities and would return for about a month at a time,” the affidavit states.
Wetteland is a born-again Christian and was on the board of directors for the Calvary Chapel church in Katy, Texas at the time of his arrest.
He is also a member of the Rangers Hall of Fame.
