-- Former Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks reacted to the umpires’ performance during Game 6 of the World Series on Tuesday night and he included a reference to the 2013 World Series.
Game 6’s odd interference call on Trea Turner led to the ejection of Dave Martinez and reminded Middlebrooks of one of his own World Series experiences.

October 30, 2019 In Game 3 of the 2013 Series, Middlebrooks was called for interference after tripping Cardinals Allen Craig when he tried to score the winning run. The Cardinals won on the call.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: “We have to do things better. I have to coach better. I have to coach a lot better than I’ve been coaching, so I’d start with that, and we have to do things a lot better than we’ve been doing. I have to coach better. I know what I really believe in, and we’re not seeing enough of what I believe in out there, so I’m not getting my message across. I think I have to do a lot better job than what I’ve been doing. I’ll just leave it at that.” --
