Yankees reportedly threaten to boycott ESPN over scheduling battle

The Yankees are reportedly threatening to boycott ESPN over the start time of the July 8 Sunday Night Baseball game.

Aaron Boone, himself a former ESPN analyst, strongly believes the July game in Toronto that was pushed from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. should be reversed to its original time.

The Yankees are set to play a make-up doubleheader in Baltimore the next day, which is likely why Boone is upset about this, as playing three games in two different countries in 24 hours is just a little extreme.

The team can't keep ESPN from broadcasting the games but Boone could refuse in-game broadcast access and refuse to cooperate with other broadcast features and interviews.

"I've kind of said all I'm gonna say on that for now," Boone said before the Yankees' doubleheader in Detroit. "Hopefully, it's something that works itself out."
