There is reportedly a list of sayings banned from the Masters this year and “dilly dilly” is on it.
Bryce Ritchie of Bunkered Online first reported the list’s existence Monday on Twitter.
“Just been told security staff at Augusta National have been handed a sheet with a list of sayings that are prohibited. I'm told "dilly dilly" is one of them. Patrons who shout out these phrases will be "removed" immediately. #themasters,” Ritchie tweeted.
“Dilly dilly” is a phrase originating from Bud Light commercials that aired this past football season.
Rory McIlroy complained last month that loud behavior from fans at PGA Tour tournaments was becoming a problem after someone from the crowd kept yelling his wife’s name. A fan was also removed from the WGC-Dell Match Play for heckling Sergio Garcia and Justin Thomas got someone tossed from the Honda Classic in February for yelling. Thomas said "Enjoy your day buddy, you're done" to the spectator and had him ejected after the fan yelled, "I hope you hit it in the water!"
“I was like, OK, I’ve had enough,” Thomas said after. “I just turned around and asked who it was, and he didn’t want to say anything, now that I had actually acknowledged him. So he got to leave a couple holes early."
