Columbus coach John Tortorella is famous for his press conference tirades, especially when addressing the media on the morning of a game.
Tortorella was relatively calm Thursday while waiting for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference second round against the Bruins, but he was also typically crusty.
The Blue Jackets, who leads this best-of-7 series 2-1, are playing in the second round for the first time in franchise history. They’ll play their first ever May game Thursday.
When asked about the history his team is making, though, Tortorella feigned ignorance.
“I don’t even know what day it is,” he said. “I’m just getting ready for Game 4. And that’s where … we live under a rock right now. As far as May, June, September, I don’t care what day it is, I know it’s Game 4 tonight.”
As a follow up, he was asked about the message to his team now that it’s two wins for the Eastern Conference finals. Tortorella was short and to the point.
“We haven’t done anything yet,” he said.
